Meet at the Pettengill-Morron House Museum at 1212 W Moss to begin your tour. Join PHS President Kathy Ma for a stroll through the grand estates that once graced Moss Avenue. Your tour will provide visual references to the work of renowned landscape architect and planner Frederick Law Olmstead, distant relation to Elizabeth Griswold of the Griswold estate. Learn how the Horological School of Bradley Polytechnic Institute began with the Howard family and how Charles Clarke’s daughter Margaret became known as the Princess from Peoria.

Spirit of Peoria Sightseeing Cruise

02:00PM to 03:30PM

Departure time: 2pm These cruises are1.5 hours-long and run 2 to 5 times a week. They begin and end at the riverfront dock in downtown Peoria, with the Spirit cruising up and down the Illinois River.

Kids and adults alike will be fascinated by the boat’s tall fluted stacks and gigantic candy-apple red paddlewheel churning through the water. It’s great entertainment for all ages. Trip includes Captain’s Commentary. Gift shop and concessions are available.  More info...

Contemporary Art Center Live at The Five Spot

Live at the Five Spot is the Contemporary Art Center’s bi-monthly Friday night music event featuring the best regional talent performing a variety of great music, including R&B, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Rock and lots more. Enjoy a nightclub atmosphere while unwinding with your friends after a busy week. While the music fills the building, one can stroll through our three fine art galleries.
