The Peoria Blues & Heritage Music Festival has been a staple End-of-Summer event at Peoria’s beautiful riverfront festival park. Now in its 30th year, festival-goers will bask in the glow of the sun on the beautiful downtown peoria riverfront while they enjoy a world-class line-up of artists from blues, roots, funk, soul and everything in between. Help us bring downtown to life as the event stretches off the waterfront into bars, venue and businesses through after hours events, late night club shows and much more!

Early Sightseeing Cruise
- 10:30AM to 12:30PM

Departure time: 11am These cruises are1.5 hours-long and generally run once a week. They begin and end at the riverfront dock in downtown Peoria, with the Spirit cruising up and down the Illinois River. 

Kids and adults alike will be fascinated by the boat’s tall fluted stacks and gigantic candy-apple red paddlewheel churning through the water. It’s great entertainment for all ages. Trip includes Captain’s Commentary. Gift shop and concessions are available.

Humane Society Bark in the Park
- 11:00AM to 03:00PM

Bark in the Park is by far the largest fundraising event hosted by the Peoria Humane Society. It started back in 1997 with a handful of volunteers and about 50 participants at Glen Oak Park. The event has grown to over 1000 registrants in its largest year, and now requires more than 150 volunteers. It is a family friendly event that has something for pets, pet lovers, kids, and adults.

Celebrating their 21st year, RiverLife gospel music lunch cruises combine quality family-oriented entertainment with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. RiverLife cruises are sponsored by Hands of Love Ministry and hosted by The Kramers.

Peoria’s German-American Central Society, in partnership with the Peoria Park District, has brought this great legacy to Peoria. For over 20 years, thousands of people from Peoria, surrounding communities, and around the world have attended Peoria’s Oktoberfest along the riverfront enjoying German culture, food, beer, and music.

Come and experience the magic world of the big tent where one leaves Peoria and enters Germany! Enjoy delicious food, the lively entertainment! A wide variety of refreshments—including German beers and wine. There are several children’s activities—especially the Lindenhof Puppet Theatre. Enjoy the German Heritage Tent with exhibits that highlight the German culture and heritage in Central Illinois and their important contributions to the city of Peoria.

Try your hand at wheel-throwing a clay creation at the mobile pottery studio. Bring your children to the Kid's Art Festival where they can create their own masterpieces. Food, beer and wine stations will be set up throughout the fair.
