Stroll and Sign Story Time- 09:15AM to 10:00AM

Join us for Stroll and Sign 2020! We are so excited to be bringing back Stroll and Sign for this summer. Join Communication Junction Thursday mornings at the Peoria Riverfront (Liberty Park - in front of RC Outfitters) for a self-paced stroll along the riverfront - strollers, wagons, baby wearing, scooters are all welcomed!. Then, enjoy a small snack provided by one of our fabulous local sponsors and a short Sign and Sing Story Time with Communication Junction. Expect songs, signs, movement, and of course, bubbles!

Peoria Historical Society: Springdale Cemetery Drive-Around- 09:30AM to 11:30AM
NOTE TWO HOUR TIME FRAME FOR THIS TOUR! Meet at the office of the cemetery to start the tour. You will caravan to seven different areas of the cemetery, giving you a great overview of not just the cemetery but also of Peoria. Josiah Fulton, Alois Zotz, the Heidrich and Buehler families, Zealy Moss, and Anastase Robin are but a few of the graves you will visit. Your tour includes entering the beautiful Mausoleum, which is usually not open to the public. Bernie Drake, former PHS President and OLLI instructor, will be your guide.

• Participants are asked to wear masks during the tour and to socially distance from one another.
• Tours will last approximately 1 ½ hours, unless otherwise indicated.
• Tour fee is $15 per person.
• Tours will be limited to no more than 8 participants to assure social distancing.
• Participants should feel comfortable walking 1 ½ miles and standing up to 20 minutes.
• There may be uneven ground at Springdale Cemetery or on public sidewalks.
• Tours will go rain or shine, except in the case of severe weather. Participants should dress accordingly. If severe weather comes up while a tour is taking place, it may be cut short to ensure the safety of the participants.
• Cancellations permitted up to 24 hours ahead with full refund or reschedule -

Celebrating their 25th year, RiverLife gospel music lunch cruises combine quality family-oriented entertainment with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. RiverLife cruises are sponsored by Hands of Love Ministry and hosted by The Kramers. Lunch starts at 12:30pm. The Kramers will be performing the gospel music of Elvis Presley.

Peoria Historical Society: Springdale Cemetery Drive-around, Part 2- 09:30AM to 11:00AM
Meet at the parking lot next to the office of the cemetery and follow your guide, Linda Aylward, an expert in the history of Springdale Cemetery, in your own car. Your walking tour will begin in the Middle Valley. The tour requires walking on level roads and cars can be easily parked. Divisions visited include Middle Valley, Rose Hill, The Cove and Walnut Grove. Hear fascinating stories of prospecting for gold in the Yukon, prison escapes during the Civil War, the capture of the Demon of the Wabash, and Peoria’s most unusual travel souvenir from Egypt and more. This tour also features two of the four founders of Springdale Cemetery.

Meet at the Julia Belle Swain landing after you have parked your car. Join veteran guide Bernie Drake for an engaging tour that will highlight Peoria history. Learn about the courthouses that were on the square before the current one. Explore each of the memorials from the newest Korean War Memorial to the oldest, the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Stroll to the GAR Hall and learn about its architecture and its history.
